We are proud to present the beautiful and hand-made ceramics by talented Shelley Martin. Vitrified Studio is a home-based ceramics studio created by Shelley in the spring of 2011 in Portland, Oregon. She studied ceramics within the architecture department in Virginia Tech. Featuring organic and simple forms, her design aesthetic was influenced by years spent studying architecture from her Finnish design professor as well as her natural environment. She found inspiration while growing up in central Pennsylvania admiring handmade utilitarian home and farm objects from the neighboring Amish community and living in the Pacific Northwest.

After working in architecture for 10 years, she currently splits her time between working on Vitrified Studio and construction management, finding a balance between hand-crafted well-made homes and functional ceramic wares.  Continuing the tradition of making and firing clay into functional ceramics, she hopes to make something beautiful and timeless that will be well cared for and enjoyed for years.
